Arranging Wall Art

I absolutely love this arrangement! I have got to tell you that I have become hooked on checking out other people's blogs! I have come across the most beautiful homes. After I finally figured out how to save some of these great pictures...I forgot to record who should get credit for them. That is a no.no. It won't happen again, but I just have to share with you some of my favorites. Notice how the pictures on either side of the mirror extend beyond the sides of the table? this used to be considered incorrect in the decorating world. It is so great that there are really no "rules" anymore. But sometimes that makes it harder ....
Notice the picture propped on the floor behind the table. the little stool with books on it complete this wonderful still life. Also, notice that your eye travels up and down the sides of the arrangement, a triangle, very restful for the eye.

More pictures and "stuff" under the table. The crooked lampshade drives me a little crazy..how about you?

Not sure what the subject matter is here, but it all relates because the frames are all the same color and shape.

Again, that triangular shape for the arrangement....also note the seven objects in the arrangement. Odd numbers are again more restful to the eye.

I love the mirrored credenza. We had a wonderful one in the store, but I scooped it up. As a matter of fact, it is still in my van! I hope you enjoyed my first attempt at showing you some snipets of great design. Next time I will be sure to acknowledge their owners.. do you have any questions about arranging artwork or tablescapes? I would be happy to try to answer them. Just scroll down to comments below this post and click and write!! Bye for now...Sue

Little Bits of New

Sorry it has been so long since I posted!! I guess all I can say is that "summer" happened....
While at the last market in Atlanta I noticed an ever growing trend, for lack of a better word. I really don't like the word "trend" because I try to stay away from "trendy" things ...they come in and out of vouge so quickly. Anyway, the "green" theme is really strong. The idea of mixing natural, earthy elements with silver and cyrstal has always appealed to me also.

You will definitely see a lot of earthy decorations for Christmas at the shop this holiday season....I guess the reason I'm mentioning this is that for the last couple of weeks the staff at the shop has been unpacking and marking Christmas stuff! It is always hard to be looking at Christmas product when you know what kind of weather comes with it!! Sorry...seem to be running in too many directions this morning.... We have wonderful moss stones to mix with moss balls, pods, cones, shells, etc. Really a pretty look that is good all year round.

We also just got in these beautiful dish towels...perfect for a house warming gift.....

I think you have to look closely at these glasses pictured here...they have "fresh water" etched on them. We also received glasses with "fresh milk" etched on them. They are the perfect size for kids!

Also in, adorable plates with wine labels on them...perfect size for small gatherings and snacks...

Red and white polka dots adorn these cute mugs, plates, and dessert plates. Red and white works so well with summer decor, and it will look just as wonderful with your holiday decorations..I can't finish up a note to all of you without posting a couple of pictures of my grandchildren!! We have been enjoying "Wonderful Wednesdays" this summer. I watch Kelli's sons, Kelli is my daughter who works in the store, on Wednesdays so she can work. We usually pick one or two other kids..
In this case we picked up Isabella , my granddaughter to join us at the beach. Such wonderful times and memories. Taking these Wednesdays off from work this summer was my gift to myself....
Don't you just love that smirk!! I know that it is hot out there and summer is almost over...sorry I had to say that....but you need to come in and check out the great stuff that is coming in daily from the Atlanta market!! We would love to see you...take care..Sue
